MetaVista

Inera MetaVista (http://www.metavista.it) is a product meant for publishing databases in the Internet and/or in standard "circuits", avaiable online via distributed databases. MetaVista is the solution for developing Internet portals, vertical marketplaces and all b2b e-commerce applications.

MetaVista is composed by an AccessServer (ACS) and a DataServer (DAS). The ACS allows access to different peripherical systems, whereas the ACS allows for catalogue publishing. Both ACS and DAS are provided with HTTP and Z39-50 intefaces. ACS parses user requests and sends them to the systems of interests; in some cases the request can span multiple ACSs. DAS transforms the user request in a query for the local DBMS and returns the data. ACS then collects the data and returns the response to the client.
