MetaVista AccessServer
MetaVista AccessServer manages user requests and supports the distributed queries on Internet network.
AccessServer provides the interface for the web user to MetaVista databases circuit. Moreover controls and route the request through the appropriate Data Server and/or an intermediate Access Server. The following figure shows Access Server interactions.

AccessServer Interactions
MetaVista AccessServer acts as a fast and efficient intermediary between some different clients and catalog servers. The supported clients are:
- Any web server via CGI interface
- I23950 compliant Clients
- Other MetaVista AccessServer
MetaVista AccessServer handles and maintains a statefull connection with its clients. The supported MetaVista target are:
- MetaVista DataServer
- I23950 compliantServers
- Other MetaVista AccessServer
MetaVista AccessServer handles and maintains a statefull connection with its targets. AccessServer was designed and implemented to mainly provide support for multi-target parallel search. AccessServer provides to merge and sort the search results created on several remote and heterogeneous databases, each of them remotely accessible using an AccessServer connection.
