Maria Grazia Toro
Maria Grazia Toro has tenth of years of experience in the software development and design in Unix/Linux environments. In the last years she developed many Web applications (Perl, Javascript, HTML) of search-and-retrieval based on the Z39.50 protocol in the Cultural Assets area. Two of the most important applications were OPAC SBN (ICCU) and SBN On Line (ICCU), Cultural Assets Information Network (ICCD, Florence and Pisa Art Authorities, Regions, Local Authorities), PROMEMORIA Multimedia Cultural Village, EQUAL (European Project), Virtual Museum for the common of Siena, OPAC Marciana (Venice), BNCRM (translated: Rome's Central National Bibliotheque), TESAURO. In all this projects Maria Grazia faced aspects of Information Retrieval using Z39.50 protocol with its application profiles (BIBI, CIMI, GILS) and transfer syntaxes (SUTRS, MARC, USMARC, XML, HTML) and all the widely spread standards used in catalographic and bibliographic world. In Inera Maria Grazia leads the web developments in the cultural assets area, with particular focus on OPAC and METAOpac based on MetaVista.
